Bespoke In-house Financial Reporting and Auditing Technical Training

Although some clients require standard update courses, we aim to tailor our financial reporting and auditing technical programmes wherever possible, based on an understanding of the client’s specific needs.

Financial reporting

For financial reporting courses this will involve understanding the commercial and operational issues affecting the client organisation and how these are reflected in the accounts. We use clients’ own financial statements and those of other companies in the same sector to bring issues to life.

For audit and assurance courses, particular issues may have been raised by an audit quality review or a professional body inspection visit which we will understand and then drill down on. Sessions will focus on tackling audit problem areas and documenting work performed, including use of proprietary audit software – as well as balancing audit effectiveness and efficiency.

Bespoke courses for financial professionals in industry and professional practice increasingly involve a blend of technical content and softer skills.

Bright Grahame Murray - Accounting and Audit Updates

Bright Grahame Murray is an 11 partner chartered accountancy practice based in central London. We have been delivering quarterly accounting and audit updates for the firm for 20 years. We regularly talk to the Audit Compliance Principal and members of their team to understand the practical issues that they are facing. This allows our training to be appropriately tailored and highly practical.

Our understanding of the firm’s audit methodology has also allowed us to periodically carry out audit cold file reviews for them. In recent years, we have also delivered focussed workshops on group audits, anti-money laundering and ethics. We also regularly advise the firm on technical audit and accounting queries.

Beever and Struthers - Audit Trainee Programme

Insight Training delivers a wide range of training courses and workshops for Beever and Struthers, a diverse accountancy practice with offices in Manchester, Blackburn, London and Birmingham. During the last three years we have developed a suite of training resources for the firm targeted at its trainee auditors. Some of these have taken the form of pre-recorded webinars; some have been face to face and hybrid workshops.

In developing these resources, we have worked with the firm’s training partner and their team to understand the practical skills and aptitudes required by trainee auditors (some technical; some soft skills) and developed solutions that also reflect the diverse client base of the practice, including charities, housing associations, academy trusts and private sector clients.
